SHASTA WOMEN CAPTURE BUTTE MEET, MEN FINISH SECOND

BUTTE VALLEY, Calif. – Shasta College's women's track and field team won the Butte College Preview meet Friday while the Knight men were second.

For the women, Shasta's 160.5 points were followed by Yuba (132), Butte (77), Siskiyous (48), Feather River (42) and Redwoods (28.5). The Knights had nine event wins for the women.

The Knight men scored 137.5 points, one spot behind Butte (168.5). Yuba was third (100), Sacramento fourth (95), Siskiyous fifth (94.5) and Redwoods sixth (48.5). Shasta's men won eight events.

MEN'S RESULTS
Running: Shasta's team of Tyler Boston, Jayden Gorden, James Lee and Kenyon Riley won the 4x100 Relay in 43.82. Shasta's team of Jacob Garrett, Bradley Murray, Riley and Gordon was fourth in the 4x400 Relay (3:37.25). Lee won the 100 (10.84), Brock Fischer won the 110 hurdles (15.71), Boston won the 110 hurdles (15.71), Garrett was first in the 800 (2:01.41) and Emari White was fourth in the 110 hurdles (16.42), sixth in the 200 (23.39). Caleb Tolbertson was 12th in the 400 (56.21), Cordell Brock was ninth in the 1,500 (5:11.33) and Jonathan Wilson was 11th in the 1,500 (5:54.99).

Field: Shawn Scribner won the long jump (20-9.25), Chris Martinez won the pole vault (14-7.25), Fisher won the high jump (6-2), Erick Vallejo-Giffen was second in the high jump (5-8.75) and fifth in the long jump (19-2.75), Murray was fourth in the high jump (5-7), Chad Cooper was fourth in the pole vault (11-7), Theodore Corontzos was seventh in the high jump (5-5) and Murray was seventh in the long jump (18-8.75)

Throwing: Jim Mogen was second in the hammer throw (139-2), seventh in the shot put (40-11), ninth in the discus (119-0) and 14th in the javelin (85-10). Johnson was 13th in the javelin (89-11), 13th in the shot put (36-7.5) and 16th in the discus (97-11). Wilson was eighth in the hammer throw (87-9), 10th in the shot put (38-3.5) and 17th in the discus (96-7). Dashawn Gregory was 17th in the shot put (33-8.75) and Xavier Hernandez was 19th in the discus (82-10) and 21st in the shot put (30-0.75).

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Running: Shasta's relay team of Adrian Bartlett, Katherine Martinez, Audrie Reuss and Grace Southern won the 4x400 Relay in 4:36.40. Southern won the 800 (2:27.30) and the 1,500 (5:28.93). Kelsey Lemoine was second in the 100 (13.33) and fourth in the 200 (28.29). Reuss won the 100 hurdles (15.91). Bartlett was second in the 400 hurdles (1:27.16) and sixth in the 100 hurdles (19.60)

Field: Alyssa Burke won the high jump (5-5) and the long jump (17-10.25). Matteya Ruiz and Martinez took first in the pole vault (10-11.75). Ruiz was fourth in the long jump (15-9). Reuss was fourth in the high jump (4-7), fifth in the pole vault (6-7) and fifth in the long jump (15-9). Martinez was sixth in the long jump (15-4).

Throwing: Martinez won the javelin throw with a mark of 103-1. Kathryn Dowdy was second in the hammer throw (121-5), third in the shot put (32-9.5) and sixth in the discus (95-9). Kiley Throssel was eighth in the shot put (29-2.75) and ninth in the discus (76-6), ninth in the hammer throw (62-3) and 10th in the javelin (48-3). Sachiel Harper was 10th in the discus (75-7), 10th in the hammer throw (60-2) and 14th in the shot put (25-1.25). Reuss was second in the javelin (91-9). Caitlin Sanders was 12th in the discus (15-8), 14th in the hammer throw (50-8) and 15th in the shot put (24-1).
