KNIGHTS FALL TO SAC CITY, REEDLEY

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College softball team lost three games on the week, falling 12-3 to Sacramento City and a doubleheader 5-2, 4-3 at Reedley.

Sacramento City 12, Shasta 3 (6)
The Knights gave up eight runs in the bottom of the sixth. Joci Bertain gave up 12 runs on 16 hits to take the loss. Kira Montgomery was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Callie Kingsbury had a double and scored a run, and Cora Peterson and Morgan Bourke each had an RBI.

Reedley 5, Shasta 2
Shasta allowed four runs in the first inning and never recovered. Peterson walked two and gave up five runs on 11 hits in the complete game loss. Bertain and Savannah Cruz each had an RBI while Macey Bunn and Montgomery each had a hit and scored a run.

Reedley 4, Shasta 3
Reedley scored twice in the fifth to tie it at 3 and scored on an RBI triple for the go-ahead run in the sixth. Cruz hit a two-run home run, Bertain was 2 for3 with a double and a run, Raya Vaughn went 2 for 2 with a run and Kingsbury was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Bourke walked nine and gave up three runs on three hits in five innings but Bertain took the loss with one run allowed on two hits in one inning of relief.
