SHASTA DROPS CONFERENCE OPENER TO SISKIYOUS, LASSEN

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's men's basketball team opened Golden Valley Conference play with a 71-58 loss to College of the Siskiyous and an 86-72 loss to Lassen College.

Siskiyous 71, Shasta 58
The Knights trailed 34-16 at halftime and outscored the Eagles 42-37 in the second half in the loss. Shasta shot 29 percent from the field in the game compared to 60 percent by Siskiyous. Benjamin Keown scored 18 points, Anthony Sanchez scored 11 points and Aramane Collins came off the bench to score 11 points. Carson Kingston pulled down seven rebounds and Aiden Pearsall-Morgan had six assists.

Lassen 86, Lassen 72
Shasta trailed by 12 at half and was outrebounded 47-28 in the game while shooting 16 percent from beyond the arc. Pearsall-Morgan scored a team-high 20 points, Kingston scored 14 points, Keown grabbed six rebounds and Hunter Warren came off the bench to score nine points.

Shasta drops to 0-2 in GVC play and 1-19 overall with 16 straight losses.
