SHASTA EARNS FIRST WIN OVER SISKIYOUS, SWEPT BY SKYLINE

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team beat College of the Siskiyous 6-2 for its first win of the season. The Knights followed up the early-week victory by being swept at Skyline in a three-game series.

Shasta 6, Siskiyous 2
Brenden Eberle hit an RBI single and Logan Kind hit a two-run single in the first inning to put the Knights ahead for good. William Mager was 2 for 4 with a double, triple and a run, Hayden Boyes was 3 for 5 with a run, Kind was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run and Sodai Takanaga was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Andrew Shanks (1-1) struck out seven, walked one and allowed one run on seven hits in 6.2 innings to earn the win. Justin Evasovic struck out three of the four batters he faced in a scoreless 1.1 innings of relief.

Skyline 8, Shasta 2
Skyline's Cesar Ceron hit a go-ahead RBI double in the third inning and followed it up with a solo home run by Ethan Reader in the fourth. Paul Luebbers struck out four, walked three and gave up six earned runs on nine hits across four innings to take the loss on the hill. Aaron Wood allowed one run in four innings of relief work. Eberle was 2 for 2 with a run, Boyes had a double and Jaden Hunter was 1 for 4 with a double and two RBIs.

Skyline 13, Shasta 3
The Knights managed six hits and committed two errors while giving up 16 hits. Eberle was 3 for 4 with a solo home run and a double, Kind was 2 for 3 with a double and Takanaga was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Ian Bauer (0-3) gave up seven runs on eight hits in 3.2 innings to take the defeat.

Skyline 10, Shasta 0
The Knights' lone hit came on a double from Brady Bloss in the shutout loss. Kind drew two walks and Hunter drew another. Evasovic (0-2) struck out four, walked two and gave up six runs on seven hits in four innings.

Shasta (1-8) plays at Folsom Lake before hosting Canada for a three-game series next week.
