KNIGHTS OFFENSE EXPLODES IN FOUR WINS OVER REDWOODS

Knights offense explodes in four wins over Redwoods

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team was perfect on the week with four wins against College of the Redwoods in Golden Valley Conference play.

Shasta 6, Redwoods 5
The Knights racked up 12 hits in the game, highlighted by Jaydon Green's grand slam in the sixth inning. Giacomo Crosetti was 3 for 5 with a run, Jude Marquez was 3 for 4 with two runs, and Stephen Nelson had a hit and an RBI. Alex Alvarez struck out seven and walked three while allowing one hit across five scoreless innings to earn the win. Shea Bowen picked up the save, striking out one batter in 0.2 innings.

Shasta 9, Redwoods 3
The Knights had another 12-hit game as Crosetti was a double shy of the cycle. He was 3 for 5 with a solo homer, a two-run triple and finished with three RBIs. Marquez was 2 for 5 with a double and a run, Bowen was 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run and Green had a hit and drove in two runs. Cade Jacobson struck out seven, walked four and allowed two earned runs on five hits in four innings to get the win. Andrew Hurrelbrink threw three scoreless innings of relief and Colten Clarke allowed one hit in two scoreless innings.

Shasta 24, Redwoods 12 (8)
The Knights scored multiple runs in each of the final five innings to put up a season-high 24 runs and 26 hits. Hayes Eden homered twice as part of his 4 for 6 day and finished with four RBIs and three runs. Bowen was 6 for 7 with three doubles, three RBIs and four runs, Keanu Mizuta was 5 for 5 with a triple, two doubles, three RBIs and four runs, Marquez was 2 for 4 with a triple, two RBIs and four runs, AJ Davies was 2 for 5, Nelson was 2 for 6 with a double and three RBIs, Liam Ritchie had a double and two RBIs and Noah Weaver had a double and an RBI. Peyton Russell earned the win, giving up two earned runs on four hits in four innings.

Shasta 19, Redwoods 13
The Knights totaled 15 hits, 17 RBIs and drew 11 walks in the game. Bowen was 2 for 5 with five RBIs and three runs, Nelson was 3 for 5 with three RBIs and two runs, Crosetti was 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and two runs, Drew Reynolds was 4 for 5 with an RBI and three runs, Mizuta had a double and an RBI and Eden was 3 for 5 with an RBI and a run. Jay Mendez got the win, striking out three and allowed two earned runs on five hits in two innings of relief. Shasta used five pitchers in the game.
