SHASTA PUTS TOGETHER PERFECT WEEK

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team beat American River 10-5 and 6-4 and also took down Solano 11-1 for a perfect 3-0 on the week.

Shasta 10, American River 5
Alex Alvarez (1-1) struck out four, walked one and allowed two earned runs on seven hits across six innings to get the win. Jeremy Carroll-Schneider earned the three-inning save, striking out six and allowing one unearned run on one hit. Three Knights had multi-hit games: Drew Reynolds was 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, Stephen Nelson was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two runs and Keanu Mizuta was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run. AJ Davies scored twice and stole a base.

Shasta 11, Solano 1
The Knights hit four home runs in the game and pulled away with six runs in the final three innings to win on the road. Cade Jacobson struck out three, walked none and allowed one earned run on four hits in seven innings to get the win.  Jude Marquez was 2 for 4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs, Shea Bowen was 2 for 5 with a double and two runs, Reynolds was 2 for 5 with a two-run home run, Mizuta was 2 for 4 with a home run and two runs, Hayes Edens was 2 for 5 with a home run and three RBIs, Nelson was 2 for 5 with a double and a run and Giacomo Crosetti was 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI.

Shasta 6, American River 4
Mizuta had a pair of two-run singles with the second being the difference maker in the fourth inning as the Knights held on for the win. Ryan Rudd (2-0) earned the win in relief, tossing three innings and allowing one earned run on three hits. Andrew Shanks earned the save, striking out three across three hitless innings. Mizuta finished 3 for 4 with four RBIs and a run, Edens had a double, Shea Bowen scored twice and stole two bases, Marquez scored twice and stole a base.

Shasta moves to 4-2 on the season.
