KNIGHTS DROP THREE TO FEATHER RIVER

QUINCY, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team was swept by Feather River College in a three-game Golden Valley Conference road series last week, losing 10-9 in 10 innings on Friday followed by a doubleheader loss 12-0 and 20-7.

The Golden Eagles won all five meetings this year over the Knights.

Feather River 10, Shasta 9 (10)
Jerry Thomas singled in the winning win in the bottom of the 10th to hand Stephen Nelson the loss. Nelson was 1 for 5 at the plate with a home run and two RBIs, Hayden Boyes was 3 for 5 with a double and an RBI, Giacomo Crosetti was 2 for 5 with three runs, Jaden Gorge was 2 for 5 with an RBI and Ethan Williams was 2 for 5 with two runs. Kaden Nicholes got the start for Shasta and allowed four earned runs on eight hits in three innings.

Feather River 12, Shasta 0 (7)
Nelson accounted for all three of Shasta's hits in the game, including two doubles. Payton Jeffries took the loss on the mound after giving up nine runs on nine hits in 2.1 innings. Feather River scored nine of its 12 runs in the third inning to blow the game open.

Feather River 20, Shasta 7
Hunter Pinkson was the lone Shasta player with a multi-hit game, going 3 for 4 with a run. Derek Ray was 1 for 4 with a triple, two runs and an RBI and Boyes was 1 for 5 with a double and two RBIs. Starter Max Nebel gave up six runs – two earned – on five hits in 3 innings to take the loss.

Shasta wraps up the season series against College of the Siskiyous this week with a road game on Friday and a home game on Saturday. Shasta split the first two meetings and the third was halted in the sixth inning due to darkness with Siskiyous leading 14-10.
