SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Shasta College's beach volleyball team lost to American River 5-0 on the road on Friday in beach volleyball action.

The Knights forced one match to go three sets with Emma Mangini and Brooke Vaughan pushing ARC's Hatch/Santos. Shasta's duo of Mangini and Vaughan lost 21-11, 18-21, 15-10.

Other matches included Shawnee Church and Emerie Brown losing to ARC's DeMarse and Matthews 22-20, 21-13. Jacie Clavelle and Emmarae Westphal lost to ARC's Ampi and Casteneda 22-20, 21-14 and Shasta's Hannah Martins and Adyson Wright lost to Harm and Savorn 21-16, 21-10.

Shasta forfeited the No. 5 match to lose 5-0.

The Knights (0-2) play Saturday at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore.
