Shasta College offers a great way to begin your college academic and athletic career.  We have a variety of vocational and transfer programs that would meet your academic goals as well as 17 competitive athletic teams.

Welcome to Shasta College Athletics. We are excited that you have chosen Shasta College as the next phase of your athletic and academic endeavors. If you haven’t yet, please follow the steps below to begin your career as a Knight
 
1. Apply to Shasta College
 Processing may take up to 24 hours.
 
2. Confirm your commitment with your coach
 
3. Apply for Financial Aid

 

 4. Request Transcripts
  • Request that your official high school and/or other college transcripts to be sent to Admissions & Records at Shasta College. Please bring an unofficial copy to your counseling appointment or e-mail an unofficial copy to Jason Kelly, our athletic counselor.
 If you have attended another college, please inform Jason Kelly immediately. If you have Gray Shirted, Red Shirted, or played at another college, inform Jason Kelly immediately.
 
 
4. Complete the On-line Orientation
 
5. Take Assessment
  • Take Math and English placement tests at your local Community College. Assessments can be waived if you have taken the appropriate English and/or Math classes in high school or college.
  • Find test preparation materials at: www.shastacollege.edu/assessment 
 
6. Counseling for Athletes
  • Schedule a counseling appointment (in office or over phone) with Jason Kelly to complete an Education Plan. Do not see a general counselor. If you have seen a general counselor you must make a follow-up appointment with Jason Kelly as soon as possible.
  •  Email Jason Kelly at jkelly@shastacollege.edu when you are ready to make an appointment or call (530) 242-7724.

Note: this is a requirement to get money for college and a requirement to be eliqible to play in any intercollegiate sport.

 
7. Register/Enroll for Classes
  • You will receive your registration date/time upon completion of your counseling appointment with Jason Kelly. Register/Enroll in your classes (according to your Educational Plan) as soon as possible! You must be in 12 units in addition to your PEAT classes to be eligible.
Payment for class registration is due at the time of registration.

 8. Secure Housing.
  • Apply at our Shasta College Dorms or connect with your coach to see about off campus housing with other student athletes. Read that lease thoroughly!
 
 
*Remember... You MUST maintain a 2.00 GPA to remain eligible to play but don't worry, we're here to help you. Visit EDGE and Get Tutoring early and often. Trust us, you'll thank us later!!

*Notify Jason Kelly, your coach, or your EDGE Team Coordinator, Cody Ramage, immediately if you need to drop classes or just need help with any part of the student athlete process.
