EUREKA, Calif. – Two Shasta College cross-country team members competed at the 2022 NorCal Preview Saturday at College of the Redwoods in the season's first meet.

The Knights did not field a full team in either the women's or men's competition.

For the women, Knight freshman Lauren Farber of Big Valley High School in Adin finished the 5K course in 28 minutes, 25 seconds to take 43rd place. Her average mile time was 9:08. Five teams fielded a full team at the event with Redwoods winning with 53 points.

For the men, Knight freshman Devon Hammeke of Central Valley High School in Shasta Lake was 73rd, completing the men's 4-mile run in 26:41 for an average mile time of 6:40. Eleven teams competed for the men with Hartnell winning with 33 points.

Shasta College's cross-country team is back in action on Oct. 7 at the Butte College Invite.
