KNIGHTS WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO REDWOODS IN OPENER 1-0

REDDING, Calif. – Playing in their first match since Fall 2019, Shasta College's women's soccer team lost in the 2022 season and Golden Valley Conference opener to College of the Redwoods 1-0 on Friday.

Maggie Stacy scored the lone goal in the 58th minute by getting it past keeper Natalie Stockham with a low right corner shot.

Shasta out-shot Redwoods 20-7 in the match and had six corner kicks. Freshmen Alicia Thomas, Kara Teasley and Bailey Biscotti had two shots on goal apiece. Stockham, a freshman from Rohnert Park, had four saves in the defeat.

The Knights play two games this week – at Feather River on Tuesday and host College of the Siskiyous on Friday at 2 p.m.

Shasta's last match was a 2-2 draw against Siskiyous on Nov. 12, 2019.
