The match started energetically for Shasta, with Ethan Diehl opening the scoring just four minutes in with an unassisted goal. Shasta continued to apply pressure, and at the 33rd minute, Uriah Scofield extended their lead to 2-0, again with an unaided strike.
Before the first half concluded, Redwoods managed to pull one back at the 38-minute mark. Kayden Lowry found the net, courtesy of an assist from Aristeo Herrera Mart, narrowing the scoreline to 2-1.
