SAN FRANCISCO – Shasta College's men's cross-country team finished in eighth place at the Lou Vasquez Invitational Thursday at the Golden Gate Park Polo Fields.

Freshman Chris Meeder paced the Knights with a 31st place finish, running the course in 21 minutes, 58 seconds, with a 5:36.9 average mile. Sophomore Donald Leedy was the next Shasta finisher in 44th overall (22:27.3), followed by sophomore Samuel Grafe (67th, 23:26), freshman Benjamin Mueller (88th, 24:24.8), and freshman Andrew Fuentes (93rd, 25:14.8), respectively.

Blaine Haris also competed, finishing 100th in 26:13.8, and Dylan McGinnis in 104th in 27:26.3.

Shasta collected 228 points to tie for eighth place with Golden Valley Conference foe Butte College. The Knights total time was in 1:57:30 with an average time of 23:30.

WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY

Shasta College nearly had a full team with four competitors at the meet. Freshman Julie Bradley led the way, finishing 52nd overall in 25:20.4 with an average time of 8:07.3.

Freshman Hannah Josang was 61st in 9:14.3, freshman Brianna Dubose was 63rd in 29:07.5, and freshman Casey Martin was 69th in 32:58.1.

The Knights' men's and women's cross-country team is back in action Friday for the Think Pink NorCal Cross-Country Open held at Shasta College.
