KNIGHTS WIN BACK-TO-BACK GVC MATCHES

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College won two of three matches last week to sit above .500 in Golden Valley Conference play with three matches remaining.

The Knights were swept by Butte College on Monday before sweeping both College of the Siskiyous and College of the Redwoods.

Freshman Jennifer Troxclair had 26 kills across the three matches led the Knights in kills on the week while sophomore Danae Ford racked up 46 assists, 16 kills and 30 digs.

Butte 3, Shasta 0
The Knights lost 25-12, 25-22, 25-17 in a match that was rescheduled due to the statewide power outages. Troxclair had eight kills, Charly Simpson had six kills and Aliyah Rosado Cruz had five kills and 10 digs. Danae Ford dished 11 assists and Asha Woods added 10 digs for Shasta.

Shasta 3, Siskiyous 0
Shasta won 25-17, 25-22, 25-17 with both Ford recording a triple-double with 12 kills, 16 assists and 10 digs. Troxclair was also in double digits for kills with 11 while Rosado Cruz added six kills and 17 assists. Simpson had five kills and Brittney Patton led the Knights with 13 digs.

Shasta 3, Redwoods 0
Shasta won 25-17, 25-23, 25-23 with Simpson's eight kills leading the way. Troxclair contributed seven kills and Rosado Cruz added seven kills and 10 digs. Ford dished 19 assists and racked up 12 digs while Woods totaled 10 digs in the victory.

Shasta College is 4-3 in GVC and 11-13 overall and hosts Butte Friday in the only match this week.
