TROXCLAIR'S 30 KILLS IN THREE MATCHES PACES KNIGHTS

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team lost all three matches last week, falling to Simpson University in three sets and losing both matches at the Cosumnes River Triangular to Cosumnes River and Taft.

Sophomore Jennifer Troxclair led the Knights in kills in every match this week, finishing the three matches with 30 kills.

Simpson 3, Shasta 0
The Knights lost 25-15, 25-17, 25-12 to the four-year NAIA university from Redding despite getting nine kills from Troxclair. Freshman Aliyah Rosado Cruz had 11 assists and 11 digs while freshman Olivia Sladek had a block and freshman Charly Simpson had two blocking assists.

Cosumnes River 3, Shasta 0
The Knights lost 25-18, 25-22, 25-19. Troxclair led the way with eight kills and freshman Olivia Kaczmarek had seven kills. Simpson had five kills and 1.5 blocks. Sophomore Danae Ford and Rosado Cruz split the setting duties, finishing with 13 assists and 10 assists, respectively. Freshman Brittney Patton led Shasta with 15 digs.

Taft 3, Shasta 1
Shasta lost 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 25-20, racking up 46 kills in the match Troxclair (13 kills) and Rosado Cruz (10 kills) each were in double digits while Ford (nine kills), Kaczmarek (six kills) and Simpson (five kills) all contributed. Rosado Cruz was one dig away from a triple-double with 10 kills, 14 assists and nine digs. Ford dished 24 assists. Patton totaled 19 digs, Troxclair had 12 digs and Calley Rupert added 13 digs.

Shasta College drops to 4-8 on the season and plays four matches this week with two at the San Francisco Classic and two more at the Los Medanos Quad.
