KINGHTS WIN BACK-TO-BACK MATCHES

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College won back-to-back matches for the second time this season with a four-set home victory over College of the Siskiyous Friday, winning 25-22, 15-25, 25-8, 25-13.

Three players registered double-digit kills with sophomores Kaitlyn Kirk and Cameron Wallace leading the way with 14 kills apiece, and freshman Mariah Castle pitching in with 10 kills and 23 digs. That trio accounted for 38 of the Knights' 46 kills in the match.

Freshman Grace Lommen totaled 23 assists and Brea Carter added 16 assists while Madisen Trueblood, Lommen and freshman Jenna Hodges each had two service aces. Hodges added a team-high 26 digs.

Wallace's 219 kills on the year paces the Knights while Kirk has 174 kills, Castle with 146 kills and Rachel Duhn with 105 kills. Lommen has 346 assists and Hodges' 448 digs ranks seventh in the state.

Shasta improves to 8-22 overall and 2-6 in Golden Valley Conference play and wraps up the season this week with a road game in Quincy against Feather River College on Wednesday before coming home on sophomore night Thursday against Lassen College.
