REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's volleyball team snapped its 10-match losing streak with its first Golden Valley Conference win Friday, beating College of the Redwoods in four sets.

The Knights won 25-11, 21-25, 25-17, 25-19, recording 51 kills to only 11 hitting errors. Sophomore Cameron Wallace turned in a season-high 16 kills and five aces, generating 23.5 points for the Knights. Freshman Mariah Castle turned in her second double-double of the season with 12 kills and 14 digs.

Other top Shasta hitters included sophomore Kaitlyn Kirk with seven kills, sophomore Jessica Troxclair with five kills and freshman Rachel Wasco with four kills. Freshman setter Grace Lommen had 19 assists and sophomore Brea Carter had 15 assists. Freshman Jenna Hodges had 17 digs.

Earlier in the week, Shasta was swept by Butte 25-19, 25-21, 25-22. Wallace and Kirk had eight kills apiece and Wasco and Castle had six kills each. Lommen registered 15 assists and Carter had 12 while Rachel Duhn's four service aces was a team-high. Castle totaled a match-high 22 digs.

Shasta has three matches remaining, one this week at home against College of Siskiyous before going to Feather River on Nov. 7 and hosting Lassen on Nov. 8.
