SHASTA SWEPT BY LASSEN, SISKIYOUS

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College volleyball team extended its losing streak to five matches after being swept on the road by both Lassen and College of the Siskiyous last week.

The Knights lost 25-22, 25-19, 25-17 to the Cougars despite having sophomore Jessica Troxclair and Brea Carter and freshman Mariah Castle each recording six kills. Kaitlyn Kirk pitched in with five kills and Rachel Duhn and Cameron Wallace added four kills apiece. Grace Lommen had 25 assists and a pair of service aces.

Freshman libero Jenna Hodges led all Knights with 26 digs while Castle had 11 digs and freshman Madisen Trueblood totaled 10 digs.

In the defeat to Siskyous, Shasta lost 25-20, 25-19, 26-24. Wallace (10 kills) and Kirk (9 kills) combined for 19 of the Knights 27 kills in the match. Hodges had 17 assists and four service aces to go with 11 digs. Carter recorded a season-best 12 digs and Castle pitched in with 10 digs.

Shasta falls to 0-3 in GVC play and 6-17 overall with nine matches remaining. Shasta plays at College of the Redwoods on Wednesday and hosts Feather River Friday.
