KNIGHTS LOSE 6-0 ON ROAD TO NO. 1 LAKE TAHOE

LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Shasta College's women's soccer team dropped a 6-0 Golden Valley Conference match on the road Friday to Lake Tahoe, the state's top-ranked team.

The Knights trailed 1-0 at half, giving up a goal in the 23rd minute. But Lake Tahoe scored three minutes into the second half and twice in a three-minute stretch midway through the second half to pull away.

Shasta was outshot 40-3 in the match and freshman Emily Porter recorded 13 saves on 19 chances in goal for the Knights.

The loss drops the Knights to 0-3 in GVC play and 3-6 overall and hosts College of the Redwoods Tuesday at 1 p.m. and College of the Siskiyous Friday at 4 p.m.
