QUINCY, Calif. – The Shasta College women's soccer team lost to Feather River 4-1 Friday to drop its Golden Valley Conference opener.
The Knights allowed a goal in the final minute of the first half and a goal in the opening minute of the second half. Shasta got an own goal in the 72nd minute to prevent the shutout.
Shasta was outshot 15-5 in the match with Gabrielle Johnson totaling two of those. Bethany Sather recorded seven saves and gave up two goals while Emily Porter allowed two goals to go with four saves.
Shasta hosts Butte Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the GVC home opener.
