KNIGHTS EDGE LASSEN 1-0 IN SEASON FINALE

REDDING, Calif. – Jenna Monahan scored the lone goal to help Shasta College's women's soccer team to a 1-0 home victory over Lassen College in the final match of the season.

The Knights sent nine sophomores off with a victory in the last match – Alexis Arnold, Lauren Garcia-Gomez, Savana Nelson, Madisun Allen, Kaylee Loomis, Paige Reed, Kirstin Adams, Erika Lomeli-Gomez and Nayomi Torculas.

Arnold assisted Monahan for a goal in the 27th minute, which would end up being the difference maker to help Shasta go 2-1-1 in its final four games, the best four-game stretch of the season. The Knights finished the year 2-7-3 in Golden Valley Conference play and 4-11-3 overall. Freshman goalkeeper Bethany Sather recorded her second shutout and had three saves.

Earlier in the week, Shasta tied College of the Siskiyous 3-3. The Knights trailed 3-0 at halftime but Olivia Smith assisted Aspen Smith for the match-tying goal in the 79th minute. Smith had a pair of goals and Monahan also scored once.
