REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College extended its winning streak to four matches last week with a pair of wins, including a 10-3 drubbing of West Hills Lemoore.

The Knights have only won more than four matches in a season once in the past four years with last year's seven-win campaign. The 10 goals scored against West Hill Lemoore was the most goals in a game for Shasta since beating Redwoods 8-0 on Oct. 4, 2013.

Shasta opened last week with a 2-0 win over Chabot, beat West Hills Lemoore 10-3 but ended the week with a 4-0 road loss to Ohlone College.

Against Chabot, Alexis Arnold assisted a Haley Moebes goal and Kirstin Adams set up Sierra Brenner for the second goal. Paige Reed recorded four saves in 60 minutes and Alexandra Erickson had a pair of saves in 30 minutes of play to combine for the cleansheet.

Brilliant defensive play from Taylor Pinnell, Trish Marquez, Nayomi Torculas and Erickson all contributed to the win, said Shasta College coach Dan Fults.

"I'm most proud of the team's ability to make adjustments during the action," Fults said. "Soccer demands a tremendous amount of thought by the players themselves. It's not like a coach can call time out and have the players come over for a quick chalk-talk."

In the lopsided victory over West Hills Lemoore, seven players scored with Rylie Pinnell earning the hat trick with three goals and one assist. The Knights scored five goals in each half.

Paige Reed scored two goals and had an assist, Maite Silva-Bradley scored a goal and had an assist, Taylor Earl, Moebes, Taylor Pinnell and Rylee Sutfin each scored a goal, and Emily Brooks and Brenner each had an assist. Both Adams and Erickson had four saves in 45 minutes as goalkeepers.

Shasta trailed 1-0 to Ohlone, allowing the goal in the 8th minute before giving up two second half goals within an eight-minute span. Reed allowed one of those and had four saves in 45 minutes and Erickson gave up three goals with two saves in 45 minutes.
