SHASTA COLLEGE SPLITS IN CABRILLO

APTOS, Calif. – Shasta College sophomore Kilee Hannan and freshman Jordan Martinez both scored in double figures in two games at Cabrillo College last week.

Shasta College beat Gavilan College 66-55 on Thursday and fell to host Cabrillo College 84-53 on Friday to split in the mini-tournament.

Against Gavilan, Shasta trailed 28-19 at halftime. The Knights closed with a 28-14 advantage in the final period to pull out the victory.

Hannan scored a game-high 19 points against Gavilan while Martinez pitched in with 13 points, seven rebounds and a team-best four assists. Knights' sophomore Julia Hill recorded her third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, and sophomore Aubrie Wall pitched in with nine points.

In the loss to Cabrillo, Shasta was down 43-37 at half, and the Knights only scored eight points in each of the final two quarters. Hannan came off the bench to score 12 points, tied for a game-high with freshman Rikki Sherman, who hit four 3-pointers. Martinez scored 11 points and pulled down five rebounds.

Shasta (11-7) begins Golden Valley Conference play Saturday with a road trip to Susanville to face Lassen College at 4 p.m.
