PARKER, BURKE CAPTURE NORCAL CHAMPIONSHIP

MODESTO, Calif. – Shasta College collected five Top 5 finishes out of the 10 finalists at the NorCal Championships Friday at Modesto College.

Aly Burke, the week after setting the school record in the triple jump in the preliminaries, won both the women's high jump and triple jump. Shasta College's Cole Parker won the javelin throw with a personal best mark of 54.93.

The California Community College Athletic Association's state championships are on Friday.

WOMEN
Burke won the high jump championship by tying a season-best mark of 5-7. She cleared the same height at the Golden Valley Conference championships on April 26.

Burke finished third in the long jump with a distance of 16-9.75. She set a personal record in the prelims at 18-4.5. Her distance of 16-9.75 was her fourth-best this season.

A week after setting the school record for the triple jump in the prelims, Burke won the triple jump with a distance of 37-10.5. It was her fourth-best mark on the year.

Jenna Hodges took sixth in the long jump at 15-10.5, it's her fifth best mark on the season. She also took fifth in the javelin with a season-best throw of 106-8.

MEN

Parker won the NorCal championship for javelin throw with a personal record distance of 180-2, bettering his preliminary mark of 175-8.

Brock Fisher finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.38 seconds. It was his fourth fastest time of the season in the event.

Chris Martinez finished third in the pole vault, clearing a personal record mark of 15-1. Erik Valdez was seventh in the pole vault, clearing 13-7.25.

Payton Harrell was seventh in the shot put with a mark of 43-4.5, beating his NorCal preliminaries distance of 42-11.75. His 43-4.5 distance was his third-best of the season.

Ian Montague was ninth in the discus, throwing 136-2 – his second-best throw of the season.

Aedan Slack was eighth in the hammer throw at 143-4.
