BURKE SETS RECORD AT NORCAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

MODESTO, Calif. – Shasta College freshman Aly Burke won two events and set one school record in the process at the NorCal Championships at Modesto Junior College on Saturday.

Burke, a freshman from Enterprise High School in Redding, jumped 39-89.5 in the triple jump, setting the school record in the event. The previous record was held by Kim Mallard in 1989 with a mark of 38-8.5. Burke's season-best was 38-6 until the NorCal championships. She also won the long jump in 18-4.5, also a collegiate best mark.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Running:
Shasta's 4x100-meter Relay Team of Hodges, Alia Sager, Maddison Smedley and Kayla Bowden was 13th in 52.27 seconds.

Field: Jenna Hodges was seventh in the long jump (16-5.75) and 10th in the triple jump (33-10).

Throwing: Emmaline Forrester was 22nd in the discus with a throw of 78-9.

MEN'S RESULTS
Running:
Brock Fisher finished sixth in the 110 hurdles with his season-best mark of 15.28. Dy'Shone Hayes was 17th in the 100 (10.92). Hayes' 10.92 was his second-best mark this season behind his 10.84 at the Yuba Last Chance Meet on April 20.

Field: Erik Valdez and Chris Martinez tied for first in the pole vault with a mark of 14-4.25, both setting a season-best mark. Carson Marx was 20th in the long jump (6.14).

Throwing: Aedan Slack was ninth in the hammer throw (140-9), Payton Harrell was 10th in the shot put (42-11.75) and 17 in the discus (125-8), Ian Montague was 12th in the discus (130-10) and Jim Mogen was 13th in the shot put (41-8.5) and 14th in the hammer throw (129-5).
