SHASTA HAS 28 TOP-10 FINISHES AT AGGIE OPEN

DAVIS, Calif. – Shasta College's track and field team turned in 28 Top 10 finishes at the UC Davis Aggie Open 2019 on Saturday against competition from the NCAA Division I and NAIA.

For the men, sophomore Cole Parker was in the top six in his two events with a third-place finish in the javelin throw while freshman Alyssa Burke was the top women's competitor with a third and fourth-place finish in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.

MEN'S RESULTS
Running:
Brock Fisher was and fourth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.75 seconds), sixth in the 400 hurdles (1:00.93) and 12th in the 100 (11.77). Kenyon Riley was seventh in the 100-meter dash in 11.32 seconds and ninth in the 200 (23.51). Dy'Shone Hayes was ninth in the 100 (11.51) and 10th in the 200 (23.55).

Field: Chris Martinez was third in the pole vault (13 feet, 1.5 inches), Eric Valdez was fifth in the pole vault (12-1.5), Connor Nix and Aaron Young tied for eighth in the pole vault (11-1.75) and Joseph Williams was 10th in the pole vault (10-8). Cody Beaumont was ninth in the triple jump (42-7.5) and 13th in the long jump (19-9.75), Carson Marx was 14th in the long jump (19-8.75) and Bradley Murray was 15th in the long jump (19-0.5). Theodore Corontzos was 13th in the triple jump (35-8.75) 17th in the long jump (17-6.25).

Throwing: Parker was third in the javelin (157-1) and was sixth in the shot put (44-5.25), Hoku-Lani Wickard was fifth in the javelin (120-9) and George Fountain was seventh in the javelin (103-6). Ian Montague was seventh in the discus (132-3) and 12th in the shot put (37-11.25), Payton Harrell was eighth in the shot put (41-1.5) and 14th in the hammer throw (96-10), Jim Mosen was 11th in the shot put (38-6) and the discus (99-8), and 12th in the hammer throw (113-4). Aedan Slack was 10th in the hammer throw (116-10), 14th in the shot put (35-3.25).

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Running:
Kayla Bowden was 11th in the 100 hurdles (18.90), 17th in the 100 (14.70) and the 200 (30.86). Alia Sager was 12th in the 100 hurdles (19.77) and 16th in the 100 (14.56). Jenna Hodges was 14th in the 100 (14.01). Shalene Cobb was eighth in the 400 (1:13.44) and 13th in the 100 hurdles (20.34), Savanna Sanderson was 12th in the 800 (3:10.64), Elizabeth Clarkson was 13th in the 3,000 (14:28.44).

Field: Burke was third in the long jump (16-6.5) and fourth in the triple jump (36-1.25), Kylanna Bluford was fourth in the long jump (15-9.5) and seventh in the triple jump (31-3.25), and Hodges was fifth in the long jump (15-2.25), eighth in the triple jump (31-2.5). Cobb was sixth in both the long jump (14-1.75) and the triple jump (31-7.25).

Throwing: Emmaline Forrester was 12th in the shot put (28-1.75), 14th in the discus (79-11) and 20th in the hammer throw (76-10). Alyson Zuidema was 15th in both the shot put (24-9) and discus (76-6), and 18th in the hammer throw (97-10). Gabby Castillo was 19th in each of the shot put (21-7.5), the discus (66-8) and hammer throw (86-0).
