PASSADAKIS, EVANS EARN TOP 10 FINISHES AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

CUPERTINO, Calif. – Two Shasta College members of the swim and diving team turned in a combined three top 10 finishes at the California Community College Athletic Association Swim & Dive State Championships last week at De Anza College in Cupertino.

Angelique Passadakis, a sophomore from University Prep School in Redding, collected 23 total points across her two events. She finished third in 1 meter diving, scoring 181.5 points, well ahead of her seeded score of 159.05. Passadakis also took seventh in the 3-meter diving with 126 points.

The Knights' Howard Evans, a freshman from University Prep School in Redding, scored 14 total points. He was ninth in the men's 100-yard breaststroke, finishing in  57.94 seconds, better than both of his preliminary time (58.88) and seeded time (59.42). Evans was 12th in the 200 Individual Medley in 1:57.70 to earn five points. He also competed in the 100 freestyle but did not place, swimming in 48.25.
