QUINCY, Calif. – Shasta College's men's soccer team lost its Golden Valley Conference opener Friday on the road to Feather River College.
The Knights struck first when Logan Coots set up Jose Antonio Hinojos for a goal six minutes into the match. But Shasta was outscored 4-1 in the first half, giving up three goals in the next 14 minutes and let the Golden Eagles slip away.
Shasta managed seven shots – two each from Stephen Darkwa and Miguel Ortiz, compared to Feather River's 13. Sunny Meng Vang had three saves in goal and allowed four goals while Jose Roberto Garcia Padillo also recorded three saves and gave up three goals.
Shasta College hosts Butte College Tuesday at 4 p.m.
