REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's men's soccer team dropped both matches last week but goalkeeper Jordan Christian has been a bright spot in the Knights' season.

Christian, a freshman from Central Valley High School in Shasta Lake, ranks second in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) with 113 saves on the year.

He has reached double-digit save totals in six matches with a season-high 14 twice – at Yuba College and at Lake Tahoe Community College.

Despite Christian's efforts, Shasta lost 6-0 at home to Butte College and fell 5-1 at College of the Redwoods last week.

Butte scored four times in the first half in the rout. Shasta had four shots on goal, three coming from Mason Jensen. Christian had nine saves.

Against Redwoods, Shasta struck first with Jensen scoring an unassisted goal in the 14th minute. However, the Corsairs scored twice before half and added an insurance goal with 11 minutes left in regulation.

Christian had 10 saves in the loss for the Knights.

Shasta (1-12, 0-7 Golden Valley Conference) plays its next two matches at home, hosting Feather River College on Friday and Lassen on Tuesday.
