JENSEN LEADS KNIGHTS TO FIRST WIN

REDDING, Calif. – Mason Jensen recorded a hat trick to lead Shasta College's men's soccer team to its first victory of the season last week, edging Mendocino 4-3 at home on Tuesday before ending the week with a 6-1 loss at Ohlone on Friday.

Jensen scored all three first half goals for the Knights to earn a hat trick and give them a 3-0 lead at the break. Shasta took a 4-0 lead on a Kevin Meza's unassisted goal and held on to win.

Emmanuel Gomez had an assist in the match and goalkeeper Jordan Christian had 10 saves.

The Knights had five goals in four matches prior to scoring four in the victory.

In the loss to Ohlone, Shasta surrendered four first half goals and couldn't over the deficit. Jensen scored the lone Knights goal while team only recorded four shots on goal in the match. Christian had five saves.
