SHASTA FALLS TO REDWOODS, SISKIYOUS ON ROAD

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College men's basketball team dropped both Golden Valley Conference contests during the week, losing at College of the Redwoods 72-62 before falling on the road to College of the Siskiyous 81-74.

Redwoods 72, Shasta 62
Shasta trailed by two at halftime but was outscored 46-48 in the second half. The Knights shot 9 of 27 from 3-point range but the Corsairs held the edge at the free throw line at 18 of 29 compared to 3 of 7. Bekdoo Lewis paced Shasta with 20 points off the bench and added eight rebounds and five assists. Josiah Palumbo scored 13 points and pulled down four rebounds and Adam Shoff scored eight points. Armal Dhinsa dished four assists.

Siskiyous 81, Shasta 74
The Knights outscored the Eagles 42-35 in the second half but it wasn't enough to overcome the 14-point halftime deficit. Shasta shot 15 of 40 from 3-point range, both marks were season-highs, but shot 8 of 26 otherwise from the field. Palumbo scored 21 points and had three assists to lead the way, Derek Gorden scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds, Simmer Singh scored 14 points and had a team-best three steals, and Lewis scored 10 points off the bench.
