SHASTA COLLEGE SPLITS DH WITH SISKIYOUS

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's baseball team split a Golden Valley Conference series against College of the Siskiyous last week but lost its other three games on the week.

The Knights won 10-3 in the opener and lost 10-5 in the nightcap against the Eagles before losing 13-3 to Sierra College in a make-up game and getting swept at College of the Redwoods 11-4 and 7-5.

Cody Emmons was 8 for 20 with three multi-hit games on the week, five RBIs and two stolen bases and Jakob Weiser was 8 for 20 with five RBIs, five runs scored and a home run.

Shasta falls to 5-18 in GVC play and 7-30 overall. Shasta hosts Butte for the final home game of the year on Wednesday and goes to Butte on Thursday to wrap up the season.

Shasta 10, Siskiyous 3; Siskiyous 10, Shasta 5
The Knights' Max Holtzclaw picked up the complete-game win, striking out four and walking two while allowing three runs – one earned – on seven hits. Shasta opened up the scoring with a five-run seventh, highlighted by RBI singles from Nolan Kenny and Andrew Durrer. Daniel Duarte was 4 for 5 in the game with an RBI and a run, Jakob Weiser was 2 for 5 with an RBI and a run, Durrer was 2 for 5 with an RBI and two runs and Easton Waterman was 1 for 4 with a double and two runs.

Zac Billingsley took the loss in the nightcap, giving up four runs on three hits in 0.2 innings of relief. Jack Stemm went the first six frames, fanning four, walking one and allowing two runs on eight hits but received a no decision. Cody Emmons was the lone Knight with a multi-hit game, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run. Weiser had an RBI double and Cody Morrison had a two-run double and scored once.

Sierra 13, Shasta 3
Sierra pulled away with a six-run fifth-inning to cruise to victory. Colby Milligan gave up seven runs – three earned – on five hits in four innings and Cameron Falcon threw four relief frames, giving up six runs – four earned – on six hits and struck out three. Emmons was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run, Wesier was 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI and Morrison was 2 for 5.

Redwoods 11, Shasta 4; Redwoods 7, Shasta 5
The Corsairs scored in six of the eight innings in the first game. Three of Stemm's eight runs allowed were earned and he struck out five and walked three in five innings. Morrison was 3 for 5, Tyler Pelascini hit a solo home run, Kenny was 1 for 4 with two RBIs and Emmons had an RBI double.

Holtzclaw took the loss in the second game, giving up three earned runs on 11 hits in six innings. He struck out three and walked none. Weiser was 2 for 4 with a solo home run, two RBIs and two runs. Duarte was 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs, Emmons was 2 for 3 with a run, Jarryn Wee was 2 for 4 with an RBI, and Eric Papas was 2 for 5.
