SHASTA LOSES GVC SERIES TO LASSEN COLLEGE

REDDING, Calif. – The Knights lost a three-game Golden Valley Conference series against Lassen College over the weekend and finished the week 1-3.

Shasta lost to College of the Siskiyous 4-2 on Tuesday but beat Lassen 5-2 to open the series on Friday. The Knights couldn't keep the momentum going with defeats of 9-6 and 10-3 on Saturday.

Shasta enters this week 4-15 in GVC play and 6-26 overall.

Siskiyous 4, Shasta 2
Max Holtzclaw went the distance, striking out six, walking none and allowing three earned runs on 12 hits to take the loss. Mason Wood was 2 for 4 with a stolen base, Cody Emmons was 2 for 3 with two runs, Andrew Durrer was 1 for 1 with an RBI and Jackson O'Neal was 1 for 3.

Shasta 5, Lassen 2
Wood was 4 for 5 with two doubles and two runs, Daniel Duarte was 3 for 3 with a run, Easton Waterman was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Jarryn Wee was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Jack Stemm got the win, striking out four and allowing one run on four hits in five innings. Cameron Falcon fanned five and walked one while giving up a run on two hits in four frames to earn the save.

Lassen 9, Shasta 6
Waterman was 3 for 5 with a solo home run, Duarte was 2 for 4 with a solo homer, O'Neal was 3 for 4 with a double and a run, Cody Morrison was 2 for 5 with an RBI and Eric Papas was 1 for 1 with a run. Colby Milligan allowed four runs – one earned – on four hits in 3.1 innings. Nathan Hansen gave up four earned runs on eight hits in 4.2 frames of relief.

Lassen 10, Shasta 3
Duarte hit a solo home run, Payton Edwards was 2 for 3 with a double and a run, Waterman was 1 fo4 3 with an RBI, O'Neal was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI and Morrison was 1 for 4 with a run. Zac Billingsley took the loss, giving up three earned runs in 2.2 innings of work.
